Q: I really love henna, but I’m not having an Indian Wedding. Can I still incorporate the artistry of henna at my events?

A: The good news is you do not have to have an Indian Wedding to have the artistry of mehndi be a part of your event. Because henna is infinitely versatile, you can use it in a many different ways:

Engagement Party. During an engagement party, there are going to be a lot of pictures of your hands. This is a perfect opportunity to have your henna done before the party to have unforgettable photos.

Bridal Shower. A bridal shower is the perfect opportunity to invite in the henna artist to create one-of-a-kind designs for all of your bridal party, including moms.

Invitations and Save-the-Date Cards.  Invitations and wedding stationery are a perfect opportunity to incorporate henna-inspired style. Or, you can use a picture of your henna hands featuring both of your hands and the engagement ring, for example, as the image for the wedding Save-the-Date cards you send your guests.

Q: How do I find a henna artist in my area?

A: One of the best places to find a henna artist is to start by looking online: Instagram and Pinterest have excellent showcases of mehndi experts from around the country and around the world.

You can also find henna artists who specialize in destination weddings. So when you reach out to the artist, ask them if they travel, ask them about their availability, and ask them about any additional travel-related expenses.

Q: Are there other ways to use henna-inspired styles?

Because henna designs are so popular, there are now many ways to incoporate mehndi art into your wedding events.
